How and when do I get my results?
Testers will endeavour to provide the results of tests on the same day taken.
The testers will point candidates through the test, pointing out the good and bad points they observed and giving candidates feed back on things to concentrate on, in the future. Candidates will have the opportunity to get a copy of the assessment sheet and at a later date the President/Vice President or Director of Umpiring will provide candidate(s) with a certificate if they are successful.
If candidates are not successful, the testers will talk the candidate through what “let the candidate down” and may suggest some suitable senior umpire who could work with the candidate in order to help build his/her confidence and experience.
As a general rule failures are not reported. In this instance, candidates will need to re-apply through their club or directly to the Director of Umpiring and/or Committee member, to take the test again, which candidates can take, after umpiring a further three (3) games, and given a further recommendation by the Director of Umpiring and/or Committee member.
When and where Theoretical tests are carried out?
Theoretical tests are held four (4) times per year and the details, time and place are usually available from Netball Ontario Calendar of Events or the Director of Umpiring.
What are the costs?
There is a cost of ten ($10.00) for Beginner and Intermediate Level and ($15.00) for Advance Level, for both the practical and the theory. These costs can change upon recommendation to Council by the Director of Umpiring
