A major goal for Netball Ontario is to provide a pathway for netball umpires, which is fair and transparent. To achieve this goal, the following is the pathway that charts umpire development in Netball Ontario.

Umpiring Pathway

Beginners Level Certification
Intermediate Level Certification
Advance Level Certification
Canada Badge (Netball Canada) Level Certification

Out of Country Accreditation Candidates holding out of country accreditation will be assessed by the Director of Umpiring and/or Umpiring Committee member. The Director of Umpiring reserves the right to award, if necessary, the appropriate exemptions.

Retesting The Director of Umpiring reserves the right to ask the holder of Beginner to Advance level, to undergo retesting, when he/she thinks it necessary to do so.

Rule Book

All umpires and aspiring umpires should be equipped with the current rule book. Rule books can be purchased from the Director of Umpiring/a member of the Umpiring Committee, at a cost to be determined from time to time. The Association can supply copies of Rule Books to clubs for them to sell to their members. These would have to be prepaid.
